In the last 2 months, I've brought my car in 3 times for the same break issue, front driver's side caliper was locking and overheating the break and rotor. I take pride in keeping my car in good condition myself but I know when I need an issue diagnosed rather than just changing out parts
1st repair - caliper pins are catching, but it’s still able to release when the breaks are bled. $250 fix to replace the pins.
2nd repair - Same over heating issue a little over 2 months later. Told me my proportioning valve needs to be fixed and I told them to also flush the brake fluid as well - this would cost $500. Over the next week, the pick-up date was changed 3 times. Called them on the 7th day without my car only to hear that my master cylinder also needs to be replaced as well. Paid $1000 for my "fixed" car.
13 miles later, I'm home with the exact same problem
I called and told them they didn’t fix it. Shawn told me to bring my car back and I refused because of safety concerns and avoiding additional damage. He then told me to drop the keys with them the next day and I specifically told them again not to drive it because I didn’t want it damaged any further. I thought they would tow it but my apartment complex video footage shows my car being driving away at around 10:25 am.
3rd visit - I'm told my breaks wont bleed and the whole caliper needs to be replaced, which they said was probably because of contaminated brake fluid. Another $500 to fix… and no, of course it's not related to their previous work or them driving my car back after I specifically told them not to for fear of more damage.
It's funny to me, because apparently the breaks bled fine according to the $1000 invoice I have from the day before and nothing was deemed wrong with the caliper then. With the malfunctioning of the caliper being blamed on contaminated brake fluid, why was this fluids issue not brought up on my 1st or 2nd repair visit? Why did I have to ask for my brake fluid to be flushed? Why didn't they see this as a problem worth fixing then?
If the brake fluid was such a big issue, you had the opportunity to bring this up not one but TWO times.
I'm done wasting money on this dishonest company that won't stand by their self-proclaimed "100% customer satisfaction guarantee" unless you pay them for more fixes you didn't need a day ago. You've lost my business and I'll actively tell everyone I know to avoid you at all costs.
Have always good service for many years now.
Great service & Friendly staff
My 90-year old mother came in to this shop to have her radiator fluid topped off and walked out with a $4,000 bill. Not to trust.
We first brought in a Dodge Avenger, the engine needed work due to a common issue with these vehicles/brand. They first tried to repair, but found it was easier to replace the engine. We were given the opportunity to look at the motor in pieces, they were honest up-front and didn't charge extra to change course and replace the engine.
They never tried to BS us or force us to do more work unless needed. Sure recommendations, but no pressure.
After that, my ex-husband (whom I cared for) passed from cancer. Our son choose to get an old truck with the money I chose to give each kid. Not expensive, but a truck. It hadn't been maintained properly, so I had my son take it to these guys. Again, our son is 18 and never once did they try to hustle him or deceive him. They did a full exam and told him the recommendation. Since our son wanted the vehicle, I authorized them to move forward. All fluids replaced, joints lubed/greased. They found one bearing that needed replacement,(unknown at purchase, but we got it for
I had an issue with my wife's 2011 Buick, after diagnosing the high pressure fuel pump needed replacing at a cost of $900, they looked up on line and saw that the item had a special extended warranty added to it from Buick. Instead of getting the $900 and fixing the problem, they called me and told me to call the dealer, I did and the repair was covered and repaired at the dealership and I was not charged for the work! I don't know too many places that will go the extra mile to save you money like this place does! Very friendly people to deal with, and a clean comfortable waiting area.
I own a 2003 Ford Explorer- with one of the bad transmissions ford made that year.
Village Transmission did a great job on the transmission and the other repairs I have needed over the last five years. Very good technicians.
I have a Saab 9-3 and had a radiator hose leak. 2 other shops (one was my go to for repairs and was a saab shop) told me to fix it, entailed a part that was not available because they no longer make saabs (like I am supposed to not drive car?) Village fixed it in just over 30 minutes. Enough said. They have earned my business!
I am a car guy and have 5 cars (3 kids!). This business is the best! I will bring my cars here EVERY time as well as refer my friends. They were fair, fast and very knowledgeable.
I love going here, and since I started about two years ago, I haven't gone anywhere else! They are efficient, thorough, and I never feel like they are asking me to pay for unneeded repairs. Great staff and service every time I go!
